Minster takes first at Piqua Invite

PIQUA — The Minster boys and girls each scored over 200 points in an invitational at Piqua on Wednesday.

The Minster boys had 221, followed by Miami East (95), Piqua (86.5), Newton (49), Urbana (42), Sidney (19.5) and Ansonia (10).

The Lady Wildcats scored 251 points. Miami East (67) was second, then PIqua (56), Newton (42), Sidney (38), Urbana (32) an Ansonia (16).

Individual winners for the boys were Jacob Heuker in the 110 hurdles (17.23), Jack Grieshop in the 1600 run (5:05.30), Conner Albers in the 300 hurdles (44.86), Alex Albers in the 3200 run (10:02.65), Nathan Webb in the high jump (5-4),

110m hurdles — Joe Slonkosky, 2nd; Conner Albers, 5th.

100m dash — Jack Kohne, 4th.

1600m run — Ryan Halpin, 2nd.

300m hurdles — Joe Slonkosky, 2nd; Alex Westerheide, 3rd.

800m run — Matthew Niekamp, 2nd; Ray Purdy, 5th.

200m dash — John Billing, 4th.

3200m run — Jim Trzaska, 2nd.

High jump — Zach Westerheide, 5th.

Long jump — Bryce Barhorst, 2nd; Conner Albers, 3rd; John Keller, 5th.

Discus — Nicholas Sparks, 3rd; Charlie Schmiesing, 5th.

Pole vault — Russell Heid, 3rd.

For the girls, winners were Jenna Heuker in the 100 hurdles (17.26), Taylor Roth in the 200 dash (27.63) and 400 dash (1:01.72), Ella Boate in the 800 run (2:24.99), Kayla Lamm in the high jump (5-2), Dana Prenger in the discus (1050) and shot put (33-8), Top five placers were: 100m hurdles — Lexi Niemeyer, 2nd; Katie McClurg, 3rd.

1600m run — Emma-Min Meyer, 2nd; Ashlyn Homan, 3rd.

In relays, Ella Boate, Margaret Hemmelgarn, Mason Pohl and Taylor Roth won the 3200 (9:52.76); Jenna Heuker, Anna Larger, Ava Grieshop and Taylor Roth won the 800 (1:53.11); Maura Baumer, Grieshop, Kylie Williams and Lexi Niemeyer won the 400 (54.11) and Cameo Cedarleaf, Margaret Hemmelgarn, Heuker and Ella Boate won the 1600 (4:23.10).

Brady Hoelscher, Josh Niekamp, Joe Slonkosky, and Mathew Droesch won the 3200 (8:44.95); Nathan Webb, Jack Kohne, Evan Dorsten, and Bryce Barhorst won the 800 (1:35.39); Webb, Nathan Droesch, Evan Dorsten and Jack Kohne won the 400 (45.46) and Brady Hoelscher, Nathan Droesch, Bryce Barhorst and Bryan Falk won the 1600 (3:37.04).
