Ronnebaum hit her second three-pointer of the game from straight on to make it 44-32.

The next few possessions were played hard by both sides, but no more points were scored as the Flyers took a 12-point lead into the final period.

In the fourth, Sparks scored on a layup to make it 46-34 and after forcing a turnover the Wildcats scored again, this time by Mescher on the left block and it was 46-36.

Following turnovers from both teams, Albers hit a three from the left wing to shrink the lead to seven at 46-39 and Minster took a full timeout with 5:12 left.

Following the timeout, Marion Local was called for five seconds when trying to inbound the ball.

Both teams turned the ball over on subsequent possessions and the next made basket came under two minutes left when Koenig hit a pair of free throws to make it 48-39.

The Flyers scored again later with Unrast making a nice pass to Huelsman who scored down low.

The Wildcats couldn’t score on their next possession and began to foul which put Unrast at the line. She missed the front end of a one-andone, but the Wildcats turned the ball over on their next possession.

Hoelscher hit a pair of free throws to make it 52-39. Albers hit her third and final three-pointer of Thursday from the left corner to make it 52-42 but time was running out.

Hoelscher went back to the line and made the first, but missed the second. The Wildcats got a final shot off that missed and the Flyers proved to be victorious, earning the 11-point victory.

Free throws played a big part on Thursday as the Flyers attempted 15 shots from the stripe, making nine of them, while Minster went 3-of-8 from the stripe.

Albers was the leading scorer for Minster with 11.

Marion Local improves to 5-1 in the MAC and 12-4 overall.

Minster falls to 4-2 in the conference and 9-6 overall.
