Tri Star Career Compact had their Fall Job Fair on Friday, with a steady stream of local students coming in to apply for local jobs that are in their chosen fields.

This is one of the two job fairs that Tri Star holds each year so that students have an early opportunity to get into jobs that falls under their field of interest. Career Development Coordinator Marcia Helentjaris is one of the main forced behind the event and how they conduct it every year.

“We’ve 53 companies this year out here. We’ll be doing this again in the spring, just like we did last year,” said Helentjaris about what they were able to do for this year. “We’ve got everything from medical to machining to welding to healthcare. Just a broad range.”

The job fair is a good opportunity not only for students, but

also anyone else that wants to get a job locally and become more connected with the community. With the variety of companies that participated this season alone, it’s given them plenty of choices.

“The purpose of having them out there is so they can meet the students face to face. They don’t have to worry about just bringing their resume,” stated Helentjaris. “We do have students that are bringing in their resumes as well, but it’s nice
