New Bremen FFA members receive national recognition

From staff reports

Recently, the National FFA Organization announced award results for several different programs in the FFA. New Bremen FFA graduate members, Emma Homan, Liam Homan, Max Homan, Ashton Ritter and Abigail Sniegowski were announced as American Degree Recipients. The American Degree is the highest honor the FFA bestows on its members. In order to receive the degree, members had to complete 50 hours or more of community service, earn their State FFA Degree and meet those individual requirements and earn at least $10,000 as a result of his Supervised Agricultural Experience Project. Three New Bremen FFA Members competed in the Proficiency Award Program as a result of winning their perspective award areas at State convention. Graduate FFA members Liam Homan, Max Homan and Jared Weigandt competed at the national level and all three were named as national finalists in their perspective

award areas, which is among the top four in the country. Liam Homan competed in the Grain Production

Proficiency Award area for his SAE at Homan Beef and Grain Farm. He is the son of Allen and Beth Homan. Max Homan competed in the Dairy Production Placement Proficiency Award area for his SAE at Homan Dairy Farms. He is the son of Frank and Becky Homan. Jared competed in the Landscape Management award area for his SAE and Sidney Lawn and Landscape. He is the son of Jeff and Lisa Weigandt. All three conducted virtual interviews in September with National FFA representative and corporate award sponsors. The final winners in each area will be announced on stage at the National FFA Convention in October. Congratulations to these members on this outstanding accomplishment.
